Charlie Chen, CEO of ICT service provider DFW Technology and Chairman of international business incubator DFW Innovation Center, is awarded the 2019 Citizen of the Year. Charlie came to the United States 40 years ago to pursue the American dream and has spent the last 30 years focused on entrepreneurial endeavors in Richardson. “I never dreamed of this type of recognition.” he said when he received the award at the Chamber’s annual meeting on 02/21/2020, with previous President George W. Bush as the guest speaker.

Charlie has served 15 years in Chamber at board level and became its first Asian American chairman in 2015. His works in instituting the Mayor's Office of International Business, being its first ambassador and pushing for the 1,200 acres development of the Richardson Innovation Quarter (Richardson IQ) are shaping the future of Richardson.

DFW Technology just signed the maintenance telecom service agreements with two new partners: Liberty Port of Miami, 15 years in Florida telecom industry; and Future Technologies of Atlanta, a 25 years telecom infrastructure service provider in USA. We are excited to have these two great companies joining our new telecom service business. We expect there are more exciting news to be announced in the near future as new agreements are under negotiation.



Charlie W. Chen was presented by the City of Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker’s 2019 State of City’s annual report, held on 1/30/2019 at Eisemann Center, for his contributions and volunteering efforts, and the recipient of 2018 Citizen Leadership Award on 10/1/2018 by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the largest economic development association in the world with 5,000+ governmental and private ED organizations, for his leadership in the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, the City’s International Program establishment, and the new 1,200 acres Innovation District of the old Telecom Corridor redevelopment.
