Arun Gupta, founder and CEO of Skyven Technologies, shared insights into his company’s breakthrough technology, the Skyven Arcturus steam-generating heat pump (SGHP). This device offers a practical solution for hard-to-abate industries aiming to cut CO2 emissions. By providing Energy-as-a-Service, Skyven supports industrial clients in reducing their carbon footprint without compromising operational efficiency.


Gupta’s expertise in industrial decarbonization is widely recognized. His leadership at Skyven has earned accolades from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy. These honors reflect the impact of his work on clean energy innovation and the broader goal of sustainable industrial practices.





Educational and Professional Background


Arun Gupta’s educational journey laid a strong foundation for his entrepreneurial success. He earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UT Dallas, where he also engaged with the local innovation ecosystem. Prior to that, he completed both his M.S.E. and B.S.E. degrees in electrical engineering at the University of Michigan.


In 2017, Gupta’s work was recognized when he won the grand prize at the 76West Clean Energy Competition. This $1 million award helped propel Skyven Technologies forward, enabling further development and deployment of the Arcturus heat pump.
